Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, accused Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday of denying him a chance to address the legislature. Gandhi, the Lok Sabha opposition leader, said that the proceedings were being conducted in a "undemocratic manner" and that he had been asked repeatedly to bring up important matters, but he had been disregarded.

"I have no idea what's happening... I asked the Speaker to allow me to speak, but he simply fled and denied me the opportunity. Gandhi told reporters outside Parliament, "This is not how the House should be run." Gandhi told reporters outside the Parliament that he had been repeatedly prevented from speaking on the growing unemployment problem and the impending Maha Kumbh Mela. "I sat calmly and did nothing. But every time I get to my feet, I can't talk. "Democracy has no place here," he continued.

He made his comments when Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged him to adhere to the procedural procedures that members must follow in order to preserve the House's honor. The Speaker's motivation for making the observation was not immediately apparent.
