During questioning, actor Ranya Rao acknowledges receiving 17 gold bars from Dubai: Report

Ranya Rao, who was detained for having smuggled 14.8 kg of gold from Dubai, in her statement to the police admitting to carrying 17 gold bars on her body and exposed the facts of her overseas journeys.

The actress also disclosed that she had not been under any coercion when she delivered her confession and that she was receiving a fair trial. Rao claimed that although she was offered food while being held in jail, she turned it down since she wasn't hungry. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) received a tip that the Kannada actress was carrying contraband, and they apprehended her at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport.
