On Sunday, March 9, 2025, Gyanendra Shah, the former king of Nepal, landed in Kathmandu under strict security, and pro-monarchy protesters flocked to the airport to greet him.
Hundreds of supporters, including members and leaders of the pro-monarchist Rastriya Prajatantra Party, began shouting slogans in support of Mr. Gyanendra as soon as he landed at Tribhuvan International Airport from Pokhara on a Simrik Air chopper.
