India called for the release of all hostages in Gaza in a statement released on Wednesday. The official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, took to X to support the ongoing provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza's population. "We are concerned about the situation in Gaza. It is essential that all hostages are freed. We also call for the sustained supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza," Jaiswal posted on X.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) declared early Tuesday that they had conducted "extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to Hamas" in the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces said, "In accordance with the political echelon, the IDF and ISA are currently conducting extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip."

The Israeli Prime Minister's Office clarified in a series of posts on X that the strikes were executed in accordance with orders from Defense Minister Israel Katz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After Hamas repeatedly refused to release hostages and rejected all of the mediators' and U.S. Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff's suggestions, the decision was made.
