Kunal Kamra controversy: After several formal complaints were filed against him for allegedly making insults about the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has petitioned the Madras high court for transit anticipatory relief.

Renowned for his caustic humor and candid opinions, Kunal Kamra has been in legal hot water after being accused of making disparaging remarks. The comedian has sought legal protection from arrest while he gets ready to fight the charges after the FIRs were filed in Maharashtra.

Kunal Kamra asserts that the Madras High Court has jurisdiction because he is a permanent resident of Villupuram town in Tamil Nadu. On Friday, March 28, according to Live Law, the case was urgently mentioned before Justice Sunder Mohan. Shiv Sena MLA Muraji Patel filed a Zero FIR against Kamra under Sections 353(1)(b), 353(2) [Public mischief], and 356(2) [Defamation] BNS. Later, the FIR was moved to Mumbai's Khar police station.
