Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya stated on Saturday that lakhs of people from all over the world, including sadhus, took the sacred dip and demonstrated their confidence in the Mela, criticizing the opposition for doubting the Mahakumbh's holiness.
The deputy chief minister, who was in Jhansi for a day's visit to meet with administrative authorities to examine the development works and engage with party office bearers, said, "This is a big slap on those who have been criticizing the sanctity of the Mahakumbh."
The politicians who have been doubting the sanctity of Mahakumbh also took the holy bath, but it was a political one rather than an act of faith, unlike the Sanatanis who did it out of faith. During a media briefing, Maurya stated, "People are watching everything and they will give such politicians the appropriate answers at the appropriate time."
