Ranya Rao Gold Smuggling Case: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has received shocking evidence from Kannada actress Ranya Rao about her suspected participation in gold smuggling.
Rao said in her statement, which CNN-News18 was able to get, that her latest trip to Dubai on March 3, 2025, aboard Flight EK569 from Bengaluru, was unforeseen and started by an enigmatic call.
Rao claims that on March 1, 2025, she got a call from an unidentified foreign number, which has happened frequently to her during the previous two weeks.
These conversations, which came via VoIP networks, told her to pick up the gold bars at Terminal 3, Gate A of Dubai International Airport and bring them to Bengaluru.
Rao acknowledged not telling the police despite the unnerving nature of these conversations, claiming privacy concerns.
