President's Rule imposed in Manipur following CM Biren Singh's resignation

Biren Singh quit his post on Feb 9, nearly 21 months after ethnic violence killed over 250 and displaced several thousands scorched the northeastern province.

The Central government on Thursday imposed President's Rule in violence-hit Manipur.

The assembly has also been put under suspended animation, according to PTI.

The development comes four days after Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh resigned from his post.
