Ratan Tata Electronic City is the new name for Jagiroad's Electronic City

The future Electronic City in Jagiroad, Morigaon district, will be called in honor of the late businessman Ratan Tata, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced Tuesday.

Sarma continued, "Today, we have decided to name the Electronic City in Jagiroad as Ratan Tata Electronic City, Jagiroad."

On October 9, 2024, Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86.

The Tata Group grew internationally under his direction, purchasing companies including Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, and Corus.
