With Rahul Gandhi's backing, a UP cobbler named "Ramchet Mochi" plans to start their own brand.

Ramchet, a cobbler from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, is preparing to launch his own brand -- 'Ramchet Mochi'. Rahul Gandhi, the Congress MP from Rae Bareli and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, was instrumental in Ramchet's change by giving him a machine to aid in his work.

Rahul Gandhi brought Ramchet to Delhi's 10, Janpath in February, where he gave Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra his handcrafted slippers. The 60-year-old Ramchet's transition from a small-time cobbler to a burgeoning entrepreneur was greatly aided by Rahul Gandhi's recent flight to Mumbai, where he met Sudheer Rajbhar, a well-known leather businessman and the founder of the design firm Chamar Studio.
