The chief minister, MK Stalin, convened an all-party meeting on March 5 to address the possible effects of the delimitation process on the southern state, but Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai announced on Saturday that his party would not be attending. The DMK leader was also charged by Annamalai of inciting "imaginary fears" prior to the exercise's formal start. "Spread your (Stalin) imaginary fears and deliberately lie about it," he said, referring to the meeting.

"You must realize that the delimitation commission will announce the delimitation exercise at the proper time, and it is discouraging to see that you have yet to learn from the falsehoods you propagated when one country's election was announced and those were later refuted.

Additionally, Annamalai requested that Stalin inform the public whether he has access to any "confidential documents" that support his assertions. "For the benefit of the people of Tamil Nadu, we respectfully ask that you make the document available to the public," he continued.
