Public Safety Concerns Rise After Shocking UK Train Attack
A mass stabbing on a London-bound train from Doncaster to King’s Cross left 11 people injured after the service made an emergency stop at Huntingdon on Saturday night, and two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
The two men in custody were identified in police briefings as a 32-year-old Black British national and a 35-year-old British national of Caribbean descent. Emergency services — including armed officers, air ambulances and forensic teams — rushed to the station after multiple stabbings were reported onboard as the train approached Huntingdon, where passengers were helped off the train and triaged at the platform.
Superintendent John Loveless told the press the investigation is being treated as an attempted-murder probe and that the rapid multi-agency response helped contain the scene and get victims to hospital quickly.
