In a massive, coordinated security operation, a high-level terror module with transnational links has been busted in Faridabad, Haryana, leading to the arrest of highly educated professionals, including doctors, and the shocking seizure of a colossal cache of bomb-making material and weapons. This dramatic operation, executed jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Haryana Police, has exposed a chilling reality: the emergence of a white-collar terror network operating dangerously close to the national capital region, Delhi-NCR.

The breakthrough hinged on the earlier arrest of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor initially detained in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for his alleged role in putting up posters supporting the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Rather’s sustained interrogation yielded critical intelligence that led investigators to a rented accommodation in the Dhauj area of Faridabad, occupied by his associate, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, an assistant professor at a private university.

The subsequent raid on Dr. Shakeel’s residence uncovered an alarming stockpile: approximately 360 kg of highly inflammable material, confirmed by officials to be suspected ammonium nitrate—a compound frequently used in devastating improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The inventory of the seizure reads like a plan for widespread devastation: a powerful assault rifle (clarified by police to be an AK-47-type weapon), multiple magazines, 83 live rounds of ammunition, a pistol, and an array of sophisticated bomb-making components including 20 timers and remote controls. Officials stressed that the recovered materials were sufficient to cause “large-scale terror attacks” across the Delhi-NCR region.
