US election: Sarah McBride becomes 1st transgender to be elected to Congress

Democrat senator Sarah McBride has become the first openly transgender person to be elected to the House of Representatives in the 2024 US elections. She defeated Republican rival John Whalen III in the lone House seat of the state.
