Telangana phone-tapping case: Accused appears before police for questioning
Hyderabad After receiving a notification from the local police, one of the defendants in the phone-tapping case showed up in person on Saturday. After a notice was previously issued requiring him to appear for questioning, Shravan Kumar, who was discovered absconding and believed to be in the United States, arrived in Hyderabad and appeared before the Special Investigation Team, according to police.
Since March 2024, Hyderabad Police has arrested four police officers, including a suspended DSP from Telangana's Special Intelligence Bureau, for allegedly deleting intelligence data from various electronic devices and tapping phones during the previous BRS administration. After that, they were given bail.
The main accused in the case, T Prabhakar Rao, the former chief of SIB, and Shravan Kumar were also the targets of a Red Corner Notice. Rao is believed to be in the United States and is currently absconding.
