Delhi Metro changes last train timings for all lines ahead of IPL matches in city

The Delhi Metro has changed the last train times on all lines, including the Airport Express Line, in order to make it easier for fans to attend the Indian Premier League's Twenty20 matches, which are set to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Ferozshah Kotla Ground, New Delhi, on April 13, 16, 27, and 29 as well as May 11, 2025, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced in a press release.

The stadium is close to the Delhi Gate and ITO Metro stations on the Violet Line, which runs from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh. The Delhi Metro will be making 76 additional train journeys on match day by extending its last train timings by around 01 to 02 hours on all lines in preparation for the sudden rush that is anticipated at these close Metro stations once the match is done. This will make it easier for spectators to use the Metro to their destinations.

'The Metrostay' is a pod-style hotel that the DMRC opened inside the New Delhi Metro Station earlier on April 6. It provides tourists and commuters with an economical and practical place to stay. The facility is intended to assist those in transit, particularly those who use the neighboring Airport Express Line and New Delhi Railway Station, and its rates start at just ₹400.
