Tahawwur Rana Extradition News Live: Plane carrying the 26/11 attack accused to land in Delhi shortly
Real-time Tahawwur Rana Extradition News: Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attacks, has taken a chartered flight to India after the US Supreme Court denied his request to be extradited. To bring him back, a multi-agency team had traveled to the United States. Soon, the aircraft will touch down in Delhi.
Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani descent, is linked to David Coleman Headley, also known as Daood Gilani, a US citizen who was a key conspirator in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. After sneaking into India's financial capital via the Arabian Sea, ten Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, funded by Pakistan, carried out a coordinated attack on the Mumbai CST railway station, two upscale hotels, and a Jewish center on November 26, 2008.
The nearly 60-hour attack, which rocked the nation and perhaps pushed India and Pakistan to the verge of war, claimed up to 166 lives.
