PM Modi's 2011 tweet goes viral after Tahawwur Rana's extradition

Following the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a major suspect in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, from the United States to Delhi on Thursday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 14-year-old tweet went viral on social media. When a US court absolved Rana of direct involvement in the Mumbai bombings that killed 166 people, the resurfaced article, which dates back to 2011 when Modi was Gujarat Chief Minister, blasted the then-Congress-led UPA administration for what he called a "major foreign policy setback."

PM Modi wrote on X (previously Twitter) that the US's declaration that Tahawwur Rana was innocent in the Mumbai assault had "disgraced the sovereignty of India & it is a major foreign policy setback." Now that Indian authorities have finally taken Rana into custody, social media is ablaze with appreciation for PM Modi's tenacity. "Modi hai toh mumkin hai (If there's Modi, it's possible)" is a phrase that many X users have poured over the platform.

"A person who leads by example." One person responded, "Captain my captain," while another said, "You did it, sir! Bravo and many thanks!
