Karnataka government issues draft notification on minimum wages

A draft notification about the minimum pay for skilled and unskilled workers in various categories was released by the Karnataka government on Friday. The draft announcement states that sanitation workers will be paid at least ₹989 per day and ₹21,251.30 per month. Highly qualified electricians are eligible to receive ₹34,225.42 per month and ₹1,316.36 per day. Professional electricians will be paid between ₹31,114.02 per month and ₹1,196.69 per day.

It will pay ₹989 per day and ₹25,714.07 per month for semi-skilled electricians and ₹1,087.90 per day and ₹28,285.47 per month for unskilled electricians. Highly skilled workers in zone 1 of the foundries will be paid ₹1,316.36 per day and ₹34,225.42 per month, while those in zone 2 will receive ₹1,196.69 per day and ₹31,114.02 per month, and those in zone 3 will receive ₹1087.90 per day and ₹28285.47 per month.

For unskilled workers, the minimum wage will be ₹989 in zone 1, ₹899 in zone 2, and ₹817.35 in zone 3. In other industries, highly trained workers would be paid a minimum of ₹1,196.69 to ₹989 per day, while unskilled workers will be paid between ₹743 and ₹899.09 per day.
