Bengaluru road rage: Deputy CM DK Shivakumar assures motorist that guilty will be punished

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar told a driver involved in a road rage incident with an IAF officer on Wednesday that the state government will stand with Kannadigas in distress and is committed to punishing the guilty.

An FIR was filed against a 40-year-old IAF officer on allegations of attempted murder, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing harm in response to a counter-complaint by 26-year-old Vikas Kumar, a contact center employee who was earlier arrested on the officer's complaint in a road rage incident.

Shivakumar took to social media platform "X" and shared a video of himself conversing with Kumar over the phone, assuring Kannadigas that the Karnataka government is there for them if they are in difficulties. "I called to reassure Kumar, who was attacked in connection with the Nagavarapalya incident." The Karnataka government supports Kannadigas in distress, and we are equally committed to prosecuting the guilty," he said.
