Pakistani flags pasted on Karnataka roads in protest against Pahalgam terror attack, 6 detained

In response to the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Kashmir's Pahalgam, Bajrang Dal activists posted Pakistani flags on highways throughout Karnataka's Kalaburagi on Friday, according to the Deccan Herald. Large stickers depicting Pakistan's national flag were found at strategic intersections such as Jagat Circle, Aland Naka, Market Chowk, and Sath Gumbaz. The unorthodox manner of protest garnered notice and spurred immediate action from law officials, according to the report.

According to the allegation, City Police Commissioner Sharanappa S D and top police personnel visited the affected locations and ordered the flags to be removed. In addition, officials detained numerous people for interrogation as part of preventive steps. Speaking with the media, the official stated that no previous approval was requested for the protest.

"To protest the terror incident in Pahalgam, Bajrang Dal members placed Pakistani flags on city highways. However, they had not secured permission, which caused uncertainty among the people. Six persons were placed in preventative custody and then released," he stated, according to the publication.
