Kannada Language Activist, Writer P V Narayana Dies At 82

Bengaluru: On April 3, writer P V Narayana, who has been at the forefront of Kannada movements for more than 50 years, passed away in Bengaluru from age-related illnesses. He was eighty-two. In 1942, P V Narayana was born in the Tumakuru district's Akkirampura hamlet. Narayana was an academic with two master's degrees in Kannada and English.
He attended schools in Dharwad, Mysuru, Tumakuru, and Bengaluru. P V Narayana translated more than 22 works from Telugu and English into Kannada. He spent more than 30 years as a Kannada teacher at Vijaya College in Bengaluru. He was involved in nearly every Kannada movement throughout the previous 50 years, beginning with the Gokak Movement in the early 1980s.
At Udayabhanu Kala Sangha, Narayana also held the position of dean of the Kannada Classical Language Study Center. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar have both taken to X to express their sorrow over his passing. "The passing of eminent writer and researcher Dr. P V Narayana saddens me.
