Kunal Kamra skips Mumbai Police summon for third time in ‘traitor’ jibe case

In relation to a complaint filed against him for allegedly making a "traitor" remark about Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra did not show up before the Mumbai Police on Saturday. Kamra has already disregarded the police summons three times.

Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel filed a complaint against him, accusing him of making a derogatory statement about Shinde during a performance. On the evening of March 23, party workers looted the studio and the hotel where Kamra had recorded a film ridiculing Shinde for the division within the Shiv Sena.

According to the official, Kamra was summoned for the third time by the Mumbai police on April 5 and asked to appear before them. After he ignored the second summons, a group of Khar police officers paid him a visit at his home in Mahim earlier this week.
