Liquor, a Marathi song, and a fatal argument: What led Bengaluru techie to kill his wife
A techie is accused of killing his wife and stuffing her in a suitcase last week; Bengaluru police have disclosed graphic details of the case. Senior project coordinator Rakesh Khedekar of a private company fatally murdered his wife Gouri Sambrekar inside their home in Doddakammanahalli, close to Hulimavu. He then packed her body in a bag and left the city.
The early hours of the evening were spent together by the couple, who had recently relocated from Mumbai to Bengaluru. Around 7:30 p.m., they brought snacks and alcohol back to their house after taking a stroll to a nearby open area. Rakesh had made it a habit to drink after work, and Gouri would frequently keep him company by bringing him food and music.
They agreed to alternately perform their favorite songs that evening. While Gouri prepared rice in the kitchen, Rakesh listened to a few songs while drinking. Rakesh claims that the Marathi song she performed during her turn made fun of father-son ties. She allegedly made fun of him by utilizing the song's lyrics, teased him by blowing air in his face, and continued to annoy him.
