Madras HC extends interim anticipatory bail for Kunal Kamra
The Madras high court on Monday extended comedian Kunal Kamra's temporary anticipatory bail until April 17 in relation to the formal complaint filed against him in Mumbai for allegedly making disparaging statements about Maharashtra's deputy chief minister, Eknath Shinde.
The counsel representing the stand-up comic went to court today to let it know that Kamra in Maharashtra was the target of three new FIRS. he also claimed that officials had harassed Kunal Kamra's elderly parents and engaged in other unfriendly behavior.
Kamra was granted temporary anticipatory bail by the court on March 28 till April 7. Additionally, Kunal Kamra has petitioned the Bombay High Court to have a police FIR against him dismissed. On Tuesday, April 8, a division bench led by Justice Sarang Kotwal will hear the matter.
