ACB publications Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain of the AAP are accused of being involved in a classroom building scandal

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and former Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are facing charges from the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in relation to a huge ₹2,000 crore corruption scandal involving classroom building during their term.

The lawsuit claims that Sisodia and Jain were involved in major irregularities involving the construction of more than 12,000 classrooms under Delhi government projects. It was approved formally under Section 17-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Manish Sisodia was Delhi's deputy chief minister at the time of the initiative, while Satyendar Jain was the minister for people with disabilities. According to the ACB's statement, the scheme entailed awarding contracts at exorbitant prices; classrooms were allegedly constructed for ₹24.86 lakh each, which is almost five times the typical cost. According to PTI, contractors associated with the AAP were allegedly given the deal.
