As of April 30, India added 19.45 lakh new mobile subscribers, bringing the total to an impressive 1.15 billion (115.89 crore) subscribers nationwide.

Jio Leads the Pack

Airtel Holds Steady

Airtel maintained its second-place ranking, gaining 1.70 lakh new users. Its total subscriber base now stands at 38.99 crore.

BSNL and Vi Continue to Struggle

State-owned BSNL, after showing signs of recovery over the past two months, suffered a setback in April by losing 1.55 lakh subscribers, reducing its user base to 9.09 crore.

Meanwhile, Vi (Vodafone Idea) saw a significant decline, shedding 6.47 lakh users, bringing its total subscriber count down to 20.47 crore.

Mobile Portability and Broadband Trends

During April, 13.48 million users submitted requests for Mobile Number Portability (MNP), reflecting the ongoing churn in the sector.

Broadband, however, witnessed a slight dip, with the number of subscribers dropping from 94.412 crore in March to 94.309 crore in April, marking a -0.11% monthly decline.
