Scotland hits 22°C as Met Office warns of high pollen levels
The Met Office has issued a warning for high pollen levels over the coming days, which could affect those who suffer with hay fever. The weather is to remain changeable, with rain and showers expected in Scotland, along with warm temperatures, humidity and high pollen levels from today, Wednesday, June 11 to Friday, June 13.
Temperatures are to rise as high as 22C in and around Glasgow today, while the mercury in the rest of Scotland is to hover around 15C and 16C, according to the Met Office's weather map. Temperatures are to remain similar for Thursday and Friday, again reaching peaks of 21C and 22C in areas along the central belt.
It comes as a plume of hot air from sunny Spain blows over to the UK, brining higher temperatures with it. Weather experts have also predicted high grass pollen and the potential for poor air quality at times, so hay fever sufferers should take precautions in the coming days.
The Met Office's pollen forecast shows 'high' levels across central Scotland for June 11 and June 12, with the Highlands showing levels of 'low' or 'medium'
However, by Friday, June 13, Scotland will see lower levels of pollen throughout the country.
