Sanjay Kapur’s US citizenship may delay funeral due to legal issues.
Sunjay Kapur, businessman and former husband of actress Karisma Kapoor, passed away on June 12 during a polo match in England after suffering a heart attack. He was 53.
Sources close to the family revealed that legal complications stemming from his US citizenship could delay the funeral proceedings. Since his death occurred in London, the process of repatriating his body to India requires official paperwork and international clearances.
A postmortem is currently being conducted, and preparations are underway to transport his body to India. His father-in-law, Ashok Sachdev, confirmed that the last rites will be performed in Delhi once the necessary formalities are completed.
Sunjay Kapur is survived by his wife Priya Sachdev and their son Azarias. He also has two children, Samaira and Kiaan, from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor.
