Bear Invades Rajasthan Homes, Drinks Milk, Steals Food Near Ranthambore

Residents of Bajoli village, near the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, have been living in fear as a bear continues to break into homes at night, causing panic and property damage.

Locals report that the bear has been forcing its way in by damaging doors and windows, stealing food like milk, ghee, curd, and other essentials. A viral video even captures the bear exiting a house with a milk or curd pouch in its mouth, trailed by a dog.

Villagers in Bajoli, near Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, are growing increasingly anxious as a bear continues to break into their homes. Despite the forest department setting up a trap cage, the bear has not taken the bait. Locals, frustrated by the lack of effective action, are now demanding that a dedicated rescue team be sent to capture the animal and restore safety in the area.

Wildlife encounters around Ranthambore aren’t limited to bears. On the same morning, a tiger was spotted near the Sherpur helipad, just outside the national park. Authorities acted swiftly, tranquilising the tiger and safely relocating it back into the forest.

Home to over 70 tigers, Ranthambore sees frequent big cat sightings. Just last month, a tigress—believed to be a man-eater—was discovered hiding behind a tourist cottage and was tranquilised inside a hotel. She is now housed in a secure enclosure within the park.

In a tragic incident in April, a seven-year-old boy was dragged away by a tiger inside the park. His grandmother, who was holding hishand at the time, watched in horror as the animal leapt from the undergrowth and snatched him away.
