Lucknow: LDA to Digitize Maps of All Residential Colonies Soon

Now, city residents will be able to verify whether the house they are planning to buy has been constructed as per approved maps. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to digitize the maps of all residential colonies. This facility is expected to be launched by the end of the year.

Once implemented, builders will no longer be able to easily deceive buyers. LDA plans to digitize not only new colonies but also those established up to 50 years ago. Currently, the LDA is working on digitizing around 600 maps of its colonies and apartments. Additionally, nearly 1,000 maps approved for private builders will also be digitized. These maps will be made publicly accessible for viewing and printing.

The colony maps will also be linked with LDA's master plan. This integration will help residents identify whether a colony's land use is approved, how much area has been sanctioned, and if any government land is included. It will also protect buyers from fraud and make it easier to locate approved plans in the LDA system. The digital format will ensure that no tampering can occur with the maps.

LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar held a meeting on Friday to review progress. Additional Secretary Gyanendra Verma, Assistant

Engineer Atul Sharma, OSD IT Cell, and PMC team members were present. The VC instructed officials to expedite the digitization process so that it can be completed and uploaded to the LDA website by year-end
