Regina Hospital Revamps Courtyard, Adds Stunning New Art Pieces
REGINA — The Regina General Hospital has unveiled a transformed courtyard designed as a sanctuary for patients, families, and healthcare workers. The newly renovated space, showcased Tuesday, features:
🌿 Lush greenery and improved lighting
🎨 Five murals by local artists, including a centerpiece by Harley Sinclair
🛡️ Enhanced security measures
Art with Purpose
Sinclair's main mural, "The Healing Journey," reflects the emotional path of hospital visitors, while his smaller work, "The Spirit Stands Strong," symbolizes resilience. "These pieces speak to strength during recovery," said Sinclair.
Community Investment
The $50,000 project—fully funded by the Hospitals of Regina Foundation—took a year to complete. "Supporting this was an easy choice," said CEO Dino Sophocleous.
A Space for Solace
SHA VP Sheila Anderson emphasized the courtyard’s role: "We want everyone to feel safe and comforted here—a place where burdens feel lighter." More upgrades may follow.
