Telangana, AP brace for heavy rain, thunderstorms
Heavy rain, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning, gusty winds with speed of 50-60 kmph is likely in some districts in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, IMD said in its forecast.
Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail over the next few days. The IMD issued orange alert to Srikakulam, Pravathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitharamaraju district, Anakapalli, East Godavari while NTR district, Palnadu, Bapatla, Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapuramu, Annamayya, Tirupati, Chittoor districts have been issued yellow alerts.
The upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts persists and now extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region during next 24 hours.
Rains for three days in Telangana:
In the neighboring Telangana, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are likely to occur in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri and Kothagudem districts on June 25, Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department has issued yellow warnings for the respective districts. It has said that light to moderate rains are likely in the remaining districts.
