Delhi-NCR jolted by earthquake tremors for second day in a row
Residents across Delhi-NCR experienced tremors for the second straight day as an earthquake struck the region on July 11, 2025. The mild tremors were felt around early afternoon, causing panic among people in high-rise buildings and prompting many to evacuate offices and residential complexes temporarily.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake originated near the Haryana region, with a magnitude between 3.5 and 4.0 on the Richter scale. Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or injuries so far.
This incident follows a similar tremor that rattled parts of Delhi-NCR just a day earlier, sparking concerns about increasing seismic activity in the region. Experts have reiterated that Delhi falls under Seismic Zone IV, which makes it prone to moderate to strong earthquakes.
Authorities have advised residents to remain calm but vigilant. In case of future tremors, citizens are urged to follow safety protocols, such as standing under sturdy door frames, avoiding elevators, and moving to open spaces if possible.
The NCS continues to monitor seismic patterns, and more updates will be issued if necessary.
