8 Dead in Uttarakhand Tragedy: Vehicle Falls into Gorge Near Suni Bridge

In a tragic accident on Tuesday, a vehicle carrying 13 passengers plunged into a gorge near Suni Bridge in Muwani town, located in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district, resulting in the death of eight individuals.

The incident has left the region in shock and triggered a swift response from emergency and rescue teams.

Confirming the incident, Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police Rekha Yadav said that police and local rescue personnel immediately reached the crash site and launched operations to retrieve bodies and rescue the injured. The cause of the accident remains unclear, though mechanical failure or poor road conditions are suspected.

According to initial reports, the vehicle was traveling to a nearby village when it went out of control and fell into a deep ravine. All injured passengers have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
