Delhi Conducts 2-Day Mock Drill to Test Readiness for Terror Attack Response

Delhi Gears Up for Two-Day Multi-Agency Anti-Terror Mock Drill Across 10+ Key Locations

To test the national capital’s preparedness against possible terror threats, the Delhi Police is set to conduct a comprehensive two-day mock drill on Thursday and Friday at over ten high-footfall and strategic locations across the city. The drill will simulate coordinated responses to potential terrorist scenarios, with multiple agencies working together in real time.

Key locations for the mock drill include Hindu College, GTB Metro Station, Palika Bazar, AIIMS, Lotus Temple, Vegas Mall, Venkateswara College, DLF Emporio Mall, and Indira Gandhi International Airport, among others. The exercises are scheduled to begin at 12 PM on both days.

Officials said that this large-scale preparedness drill will involve active participation from fire services, civil defence volunteers, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and other critical stakeholders. A senior police officer emphasized that the drill is designed to evaluate the effectiveness and inter-agency coordination of Delhi’s counter-terrorism measures.

“Mock drills are a critical part of our security apparatus, designed to rigorously test our operational readiness in real-world scenarios. This multi-location, multi-agency drill—coordinated by Delhi Police’s Special Cell—was developed after several planning sessions and tabletop exercises,” the officer said.

The operation aims not only to assess the city's emergency response but also to enhance coordination among various civil and security departments during high-stakes situations.
