Rakesh Roshan had 75% artery blockage: AIIMS expert on tests you really need

Actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has urged everyone to undergo preventive health screenings after a routine check-up revealed over 75% blockage in both his carotid arteries—despite having no symptoms.

Sharing his experience, Roshan said, “This week has been truly eye-opening. During a routine full-body health check-up, the doctor performing the heart sonography suggested doing one for the neck as well. By chance, we discovered that both my carotid arteries supplying blood to the brain were more than 75% blocked. Had this gone undetected, it could have been extremely dangerous.”

Following this discovery, he underwent preventive procedures and emphasized, “A heart CT and carotid artery sonography—often completely ignored—are essential for everyone over 45-50 years of age.”
