Blast at Pakistan mosque injures Islamist leader, three others
An Islamist party leader and three other people, including children, were hurt in a Friday blast that targeted a mosque in northwest Pakistan, according to authorities. To yet, no group has taken credit for the explosion.
According to Reuters, Abdullah Nadeem, a local leader of the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) political organization, seems to be the target of the explosion. According to South Waziristan district police chief Asif Bahadar, Nadeem was hospitalized due to severe injuries. Among those hurt were two children.
According to the research, attacks in Pakistan's border areas with Afghanistan have increased in recent months. Six worshippers were killed during Friday prayers in February when a suicide attacker set off a device at an Islamic seminary in northwest Pakistan. The Afghan Taliban have used the facility as a traditional training ground.
