Delhi-NCR earthquake live updates: ‘Never felt such tremors before,’ say panicked residents

Delhi NCR experienced earthquake tremors on Monday morning, with the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reporting a magnitude of 4.0. The earthquake occurred in New Delhi at a depth of five kilometres, according to NCS. The tremors were recorded at 5.36 am, as per the agency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X, saying that tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas, and that the authorities are staying alert for any aftershocks. “Tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas. I urge everyone to stay calm and follow safety precautions, remaining alert for possible aftershocks. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation,” he said.
