Delhi: To address drinking water issues, CM Rekha Gupta announces a ₹9,000 crore solution.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday allocated ₹9,000 crore to modernize water supply infrastructure, improve drinking water accessibility, conserve rainfall, and improve sanitation in order to address Delhi's water scarcity.

A bold proposal to replace open canals with pipelines is one of the solutions, along with the installation of new borewells and electronic metering.

"Water is not just a gift of nature; it is the foundation of civilization," the chief minister stated when he presented the state assembly with the annual budget.
