Hyderabad: A razor blade discovered in a dinner dish at Osmania University provokes a protest

Students of Osmania University organized a protest on Tuesday night after a razor blade was purportedly found in a curry served for supper at the New Godavari hostel meal. Students blocked the university’s main road, holding the curry vessel and plate while chanting slogans against the administration.

Given that the occurrence follows earlier allegations of foreign things in the meals, such as glass fragments and worms, they asked that Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Kumar address their concerns, the article continued. The discovery of a razor blade, according to protesters, was not a unique incident. Worms were discovered in the mess's cabbage curry two days earlier, they claimed.

In the past, a student discovered glass fragments in the food. The story cited Chelimela Druhan, an MA Philosophy student and president of the Osmania University ABVP, as stating, "Every time we bring up the issue, the mess staff assures us it won't happen again, but the problems keep recurring."
