India has 827,357 sq km of forests, 25.17% of country’s area: Report

New Delhi: The total forest and tree cover in India is 827,357 sq km, which accounts for 25.17% of the country’s geographical area, according to the State of Forest report 2023 released by the Forest Survey of India.
