Karnataka CM expresses grief after student dies of food poisoning in Mandya
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday expressed sorrow over the death of a northeastern student who contracted "food poisoning" at a private school in the state's Mandya district's T Kagepura hamlet in Malavalli taluka. According to him, three suspects have been taken into custody by the police in relation to the incident.
"It was heartbreaking to learn that a student died and several children fell seriously ill after food poisoning at a private residential educational institution in T. Kagepur, Malavalli taluk, Mandya district," CM Siddaramaiah wrote on X. According to the police, out of the 30 students who became ill, one student from the northeast, Kerkong, passed away.
In response, Siddaramaiah stated that the Deputy Commissioner in Mandya district was directed to supervise plans to treat students while taking action against those responsible. He also stated that three accused had been arrested in this case and that an investigation was still ongoing.
