Karnataka High Court halts order against PVR for delay because of lengthy pre-film advertisements

According to a Bar and Bench article, the Karnataka High Court on Monday temporarily halted a consumer court ruling holding PVR Cinemas accountable for forcing viewers to endure lengthy pre-movie commercials. The directive will remain in force until March 27.

The HC claimed that by considering the complaint to be a more significant public interest matter, the consumer forum had overreached its authority.

Additionally, the Bengaluru Consumer Forum ordered PVR Cinemas to reimburse the complaint ₹1.28 lakh.
