‘No person will be spared if guilty’ says Maharashtra minister on Disha Salian case
During Wednesday's state assembly proceedings, Maharashtra minister Shambhuraj Desai declared that if convicted in the matter of former celebrity manager Disha Salian's death, no one would be spared. The minister's remarks came after Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad brought up the matter during a "Point of Information" in the assembly and inquired about the potential consequences for Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, who has been charged with involvement in the case.
"It is up to him and his party whether to resign on moral grounds," Desai stated. However, in my capacity as government, I would like to declare that no one will be exempt if found guilty. We'll ask the Mumbai police commissioner for a report on Salian's claims, which we'll then forward to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the matter."
Aaditya Thackeray's resignation was also demanded by Sanjay Gaikwad when the father of former celebrity manager Disha Salian accused the leader of being "directly involved" in her death, which the authorities had previously declared to be an accident.
