Ranya Rao took 52 trips to Dubai, 26 with actor friend Tarun Raju: Report

Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials told the court on Tuesday that Kannada actor Ranya Rao, The DRI, during a court proceeding, revealed fresh details about the case stating that their travel pattern raised many questions who was arrested in connection with a gold scam case, smuggled gold during at least 26 round flights to Dubai with actor pal Tarun Raju.

Rao and Raju would leave in the morning and return in the evening during their trips, which raised suspicion, the agency told the court, according to the publication. The DRI made these comments as he rejected Tarun Raju's bail request; he was detained shortly after Ranya Rao was detained at the Bengaluru airport after the actor was caught smuggling gold by the agency.

Both Rao and Raju have been charged under the Customs Act and the Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act. The India Today report further stated that the investigators found more financial links between Raju and Rao and they flew from Dubai to Hyderabad on a ticket booked by Rao, using money she sent to his account.
