Ranya Rao's bail application rejected in gold smuggling case

Kannada actress Ranya Rao's bail application was rejected in the Economic Offences Court in a gold smuggling case, ANI reported. Tarun Konduru, the second defendant in the Ranya Rao gold smuggling case, applied for bail at the court of Economic Offenses. On Saturday at 3 p.m., his bail application will be considered.
Rao, 34, was taken into custody on March 3 when she arrived at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport from Dubai carrying 14 kg of gold bars valued at ₹12.56 crores.
Currently serving as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, she is the stepdaughter of senior IPS officer Ramachandra Rao.
