RG Kar rape case verdict live: Court to pronounce Sanjay Roy's sentence on January 20

A court in West Bengal's Kolkata on Saturday pronounced accused Sanjay Roy guilty of rape-murder of on-duty doctor at RG Kar hospital. The court will pronounce Sanjay Roy's sentence on January 20. The case pertains to a 31-year-old trainee doctor who was found dead in the seminar hall of the RG Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata on August 9, 2024. The trainee doctor was killed after being raped."

The accused Sanjay Roy has been found guilty of rape and murder under sections 64, 66 and 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
