Following strong protests by BJP MPs against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's alleged comments that the Congress would modify the Constitution to give reservation for Muslims, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned early on Monday, March 24, 2025.

The issue was brought up by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and the BJP also asked Congress president and Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge to respond.
