The Karnataka government recovers land that HDK "encroached" on
The state's top court chastised officials on Monday for their tardiness in carrying out the court's previous eviction decisions.
A day after the state high court sternly warned officials for failing to carry out the court's earlier eviction orders, the state revenue department on Tuesday began taking action to clear the alleged encroachment of government land in Ramanagara district by Union minister HD Kumaraswamy.
However, senior Janata Dal (Secular) leader Kumaraswamy called the move a "conspiracy" by the Congress government against him and vowed to battle it out in court. He added that he had bought the piece of property forty years prior.
